Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C (Gas Mark 4, 375°F). Grease a baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

Put the bulgur wheat, chickpeas, vegan cheddar cheese, and tomato chutney or ketchup in a bowl and mash together until they’re well blended. Using your hands, shape the mixture into 5 patties - make sure they are all uniform in size to ensure they cook evenly.

Place the patties in the prepared baking pan and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, then turn them over and return to the oven for an additional 15 minutes. Serve the patties in burger buns and add your favorite toppings.
