Herbes de Provence
Looking for a new seasoning to give your homecooked meals a kick of flavour? Try combining rosemary, savoury, thyme, basil, marjoram and oregano, to make Herbes de Provence – a fragrant but subtle mixture that can be used in a number of different dishes. Originating from the Provence region of Southeast France, these herbs were first paired together in the 1970s, where they were sold under the name of Herbes de Provence. This combination is ideal if you fancy giving a Mediterranean twist to a salad, pasta or dressing, and it’s super simple to make. Most of the ingredients can either be grown in your garden or bought from a local shop – but as it’s such a flexible recipe, you can adapt it to add more or less of your chosen herbs.
