A new vegan restaurant is opening in Shoreditch, which offers a menu packed with plant-based organic dishes that have been influenced from cultures around the world. Founded by brothers Alex and Oliver Santoro, their new venture differs from their family’s century-long involvement in the meat industry.
Both of the brothers are vegan, starting their plant-based diets seven years ago, and launched vegan food company Raw Imagination. Raw Imagination supplies grab and go food to retailers such as Planet Organic.
Expanding their vegan businesses further, the new restaurant will have a selection of sharing plates, tacos, soups, salads, hot dogs and burgers, which will all be made using organic fruit and vegetables, nuts, seeds and grains.
The menu is motivated by the brothers’ travels through the Middle East and Asia, with Indian street food inspired Aloo Tikki Chaat, Shawarma with Israeli salad, chilli, pickles, garlic sauce, tahini dressing and sumac, and Tel Aviv cauliflower served with tahini, almonds and cranberries.
Other indulgent options include their signature burgers and hot dogs which will be made using natural ingredients, and a rich chocolate brownie for dessert served as part of their brownie sundae, or you can choose from bread and butter pudding for a classic dessert.
There is also a selection of milkshakes, organic juices, kombucha and other organic drinks to choose from.
Genesis will open on Commercial Street in September.
