Whether you’re a fan of the festive season or not, everyone adores the amount of delicious food that is in abundance. Being vegan at Christmas is often thought of as being difficult, however, Tesco are one supermarket making it easier than ever to have an animal-product-free Christmas.
Admittedly it is a little early to think about Christmas, but for retailers Christmas a year-round job. Tesco are the first supermarket to reveal some of their festive food range, with a favourite from last year returning.
Manchester Evening News shared images from the press event held by Tesco, showcasing their Christmas 2018 range. They report that Tesco have focusing on vegan shoppers this year, making the delight of Christmas food accessible to all with the convenience of prepared food.
Two of the items listed include the cauliflower wellington, priced at £6, and a great alternative for a table centre piece. The British grown cauliflower is coated in turmeric oil, with a mushroom and butternut squash Duxelles sauce, rich in red wine and infused with spices of nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon, which is hand-wrapped in flaky puff pastry.
Another option available as a main is the butternut squash entrée as another alternative to a beef wellington. The retailer provided a wide range of vegan options last year, and this year is set to be even better.
Although Christmas is still a few months away and the planning hasn’t started yet, knowing there’s some alternatives in the shops available is a good safety net for any last minute celebrations and gatherings over the festive period.
Keep an eye out in the coming months for more Christmas product news!
