Some restaurants are offering vegan menus for a limited time only, so be sure to check out their food before the month is over!
With a vegan option for each course including a dessert other than sorbet, Ask Italian have a wide range of plant based food to choose from including baked dough balls with extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start and a Prima pizza for your main – they also serve vegan mozzarella to top your pizza with. For dessert you could have the delicious blood orange and chocolate torte with raspberry sorbet.
Turtle Bay have 15 restaurants across England and Wales that all serve their vegan options which include trini doubles that are bara roti flatbreads with curried chickpeas and a cucumber and mango chutney as a starter. For your main course there’s plenty of choice from their One Pots, to wraps and salads. Many of their side dishes including sweet plantain and trini pineapple chow are vegan.
The vegan menu at All Bar One is exclusive to January so be quick to taste their vegan offerings! The menu includes a rainbow wrap, a vegan burger and a miso rice bowl. For dessert there is the choice between sorbet or a delicious coconut and vanilla rice pudding with blueberry compote.
Wagamamas vegan menu includes Yasai Itame which is rice noodles in a spicy green coconut and lemongrass soup with tofu and vegetables, topped with stir fried bean sprouts, red and spring onions, bok choi, peppers, mushrooms and chilli, garnished with coriander and fresh lime. This is only one of the dishes suitable for vegans, with many other choices on their menu.

Chiquito have a few options on their regular menu that can be made vegan by taking out the sour cream when you’re ordering. This includes the roast vegetable fajita (taking out the sour cream), quesadillas (taking out the cheese and cheese & garlic spread) and the veggie chilli (taking out the cheese and sour cream). They also have a lot of starters that are vegan including their garlic bread.
You can visit Itsu restaurants in London, Bright, Oxford and Cambridge. They have an abundance of vegan options on their menu including veggie gyozas, a quinoa falafel and veg rice bowl, and miso soup. Itsu also have a number of vegan snacks you can buy in the major supermarkets.
After Pizza Hut successfully trialled Violife vegan cheese in a few of their restaurants, they have made it a permanent option on the menu across the UK. The pan dough, all American thin dough and flatbread dough are vegan, and be sure to ask for the Violife cheese to top your pizza. All of the usual salad items are available at every restaurant, and the bacon pieces and low fat French dressing are vegan too!
YO! Sushi have introduced a vegan range for January with all the dishes on the vegan menu priced at only £2.80 per portion at participating restaurants. Items on the limited edition menu include vegetable tempura, miso dumpling ramen with rice or yakisoba.

In January Leon are adding new vegan options to their menu including porridge with almond butter and ruby berry compote for breakfast, a sweet potato and okra stew on their lunch menu. For sweet treats you can pick up a vegan billionaire slice or a lemon, courgette and polenta cake. Leon have a lot of options making going vegan easy when eating out and about. If the garlic dough balls at Pizza Express are your firm favourite to start, you can ask to have the garlic butter replaced with garlic oil. Their main pizza is the vegan giardiniera, which is topped with artichoke, closed cup mushroom, red onion and black olives and their vegan mozzarella and garlic oil.
At Las Iguanas there is plenty of choice for vegan food, with them having their own vegan and vegetarian menu, so be sure to ask for that when choosing your meal. There are vegan options for starter, mains and dessert. If you don’t fancy sorbet for dessert, they have tembleque – a creamy coconut pudding with mixed berries and mango puree.

All of the teas and coffees available at Costa are vegan, and can be made with soya milk when requested. Costa has recently added coconut milk to the menu, with a variety of options in the new range. They have a range of snacks suitable for vegans including the range of Tyrell’s crisps, avoiding the cheese and onion flavour. For lunch they have a falafel salad available as well as a few fruit options to choose from.
At Starbucks you’ll be able to find a number of drinks that will be labelled as vegan on the menu. For hot tea and coffee make sure to ask for dairy-free milk, with the option of soya, almond, coconut to choose from. Their flavoured syrups are also vegan, including the vanilla, caramel and hazelnut. For lunch you can grab a kale, jalapeño and slaw wrap or the moreish mezze salad. There’s also a range of snacks available, including dark chocolate bars and nuts and fruit.
In London you will now find three veggie Pret a Manger stores, with all three carrying locations vegan options. They cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner with an acai and almond butter breakfast bowl and pretzels among other vegan options available to grab on your morning commute. There are wraps, hot food, sandwiches, salads, baguettes, snacks and sweet treats to choose from too that are all vegan!
