Yellow Split Pea Burgers

Add one teaspoon of oil to a frying pan over a medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic in the pan for 2-3 minutes, and then add the garam masala and chilli, and sauté for a further 1-2 minutes. Add this to a bowl with the split peas, soy sauce and plain flour, and mash together with a fork until a coarse dough is formed.


Split the dough into 4 and shape each piece into a patty. Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan and cook each patty for 3-4 minutes on each side until browned and cooked through.
